"Leaf cutting" makes that tree do the function of two times at one year. It is done with a purpose to gain twigs in Keyaki(zelkova), To-kaede(maple) ,Himeshara(Stewartia monadelpha) , etc. Leave 1 leaf(1bud), pinch the bud which has begun to grow. The colored leaves that size was kept can be enjoyed in autumn. |
